Since 2002, Scott Vogt has been providing independent consulting to public and private sector clients. Based on his unmatched knowledge of materials and coatings, his distinctive expertise encompasses materials manufacturing, consulting and sales, as well as product and process development.
Prior to establishing Vogt Associates, LLC, Mr. Vogt held executive positions with leading materials coatings firms: Custom Carbons, Inc., Sermatech-ISPA and The ISPA Company.
Scott Vogt has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of materials manufacturing for processing industries:
His background encompasses manufacturing and coating of process vessels, ductwork, shipboard components, food processing equipment, adhesive lamination equipment, pollution control equipment and like industrial equipment.
Mr. Vogt’s materials manufacturing experience has helped shape and implement the fabrication, repair, inspection and coating of metals (steel, super alloys, aluminum, titanium, bronze, etc.), fiber-reinforced plastics, elastomers and thermoplastics. Moreover, he is experienced in the coating and lining of processing equipment with high performance, chemically inert fluoropolymers for corrosion control and non-stick applications, as well as the use of thermal spray technology to apply metal and ceramic coatings.
Mr. Vogt is a coatings innovator who holds patents for fluoropolymer linings and corrosion control coatings.
Scott Vogt provides materials consulting to the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) and the Johns Hopkins University Advanced Technology Laboratory related to ongoing research with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the United States Air Force (USAF).
Mr. Vogt is an exporter of fluoropolymer coating products to nations overseas. He also provides consulting in sales, marketing and manufacturing to private sector clients as it relates to coatings.
As a sales representative for W.L. Gore in North America, Scott Vogt is a vital link between the company and selected manufacturers that have been approved to use the GORE® FLUOROSHIELD® coating product line.
Vogt has worked with GORE® FLUOROSHIELD® since it was re-introduced into North America in the 1990s to meet the increasing requirements of the chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing and semi-conductor industries for corrosion and non-stick protection of process equipment.
